Fairfield, Conn. - The release of a new Harry Potter story this summer is reviving Potter mania.  In keeping with the excitement, Fairfield Library's latest escape room game has a Harry Potter theme.  Escape room games, (also known as locked rooms, puzzle rooms or mystery rooms) require you and a team of others to solve a series of interlocking clues in an hour’s time.  Escape from Malfoy Manor groups must discover if there is a horcrux hidden in Malfoy Manor (aka The Memorial and Jennings Rooms at the Main Library). Groups of ten work together to solve the challenging puzzles and riddles before time runs out.

Wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to think on your feet.  Escape from Malfoy Manor will be offered at the Main Library, 1080 Old Post Road, for four days, from Wednesday, July 27 through Saturday, July 30.  Each of the daily sessions will be offered by age range, including tweens (ages 9-12), teens, adults, and two sessions for families on the last day.  Space in each session is strictly limited, so be sure to coordinate in advance if you want to attend as a group.  Registration is required.

For more Harry Potter fun, there is Harry Potter Trivia for tweens and teens on Thursday, July 28 from 3:00-4:30 pm and a fabulous old school Harry Potter “8” Midnight Release Party on Saturday, July 30. Start the party at the Main Library at 7:00 pm and then continue the celebration at the Fairfield University Bookstore at 9:00 pm.  Purchase the book when it goes on sale at midnight!
