Danbury, CT – The Connecticut Taco Festival will take place on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 10 AM to 8 PM at the Danbury Ice Arena. This inaugural event will feature a variety of taco selections from restaurants and food trucks around Connecticut, alcoholic beverages, Lucha Libre Wrestling featuring Rey Mysterio and Jerry Lawler, Taco-Eating Contests, live music, performances, kid’s activities and vendors. There is currently a July 4th pre-weekend 20% off sale for all tickets, ending on July 14th.

Early-bird tickets are $45 and include free tacos, 2 voting tickets for your favorite tacos, access to bar, viewing live music, performances and wrestling, a t-shirt and free giveaways, including a shot glass. Taco-eating contest participation is $100, which excludes general admission. General admission increases to $50 on July 14th. VIP tickets for no line wait for tacos and bar, along with optimal viewing of performances and wrestling, are $100. Meet & Greet with Rey Mysterio with 1 photo to autograph is $75; an additional $25 per autograph.
Restaurants involved at this time include El Coyote (Monroe, Brookfield and New Milford) and Rubamba Restaurant (New Haven). Food trucks include Brazilian Gula Grill (South Windsor) and Pork Friends and Co. (Meriden). More will be announced soon on the Connecticut Taco Festival’s website and social media.
The drink selection will include frozen margaritas, tequila and Mexican beer. The event will have live music and performances, including Fred Astaire Dance Studio of Brookfield, Yale’s Ballet Folklórico Mexicano, a mariachi band and more!
There will be vendors including Hoardable Hot Sauce, LuLaRoe, Tupperware, Touchstone Crystal by Swarovski, Raising Wallz, Anjali – Diving Offerings jewelry, and more. Kids activities include face painting, piñatas, and more to be announced soon.
