Bob Mancusi New FPS Director of Special Ed & Student Svcs.

Fairfield, CT -- Fairfield Public Schools has announced the appointment of Mr. Robert Mancusi to the position of Director of Special Education and Student Services for FPS. Mr. Mancusi will begin his assignment in August 2017.

He is currently the Director of Pupil Personnel Services for the Wallingford, CT Public Schools.  In that role, some of his responsibilities included direct oversight of in-district and out-of-district programming for students with disabilities, development of the department budget, oversight of the Section 504 policies and procedures, Chair of the Talented and Gifted Management Team, oversight of the school climate committee, oversight of the district social, emotional and behavioral intervention program and the provision of professional development training for department staff.  Prior to his current role, Mr. Mancusi had been a Coordinator of Special Education in the Wallingford Public Schools as well as a Special Education Department Head. Prior to these leadership positions, Mr. Mancusi had been a School Psychologist in the East Haven and Wallingford school systems. 

Mr. Mancusi earned his Bachelor's, Master's and Sixth-Year Degrees in School Psychology at Southern Connecticut State University.  He also completed a Sixth-Year Degree in Educational Leadership at Southern Connecticut State University as well.

Mr. Mancusi impressed the interview committee with his knowledge and experience in the field of Special Education as well as his passion for working with staff, students and families.
