Southport, CT – Pequot Library is honored to host Fairfield Public Schools’ townwide art show from Friday, May 25 to Thursday, May 31, 2018, during regular library hours. The opening reception will be held on Wednesday, May 30 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. To better facilitate the town’s participation, encouraged viewing times are 5:30-7:00 p.m. for elementary schools and 7:00-8:30 p.m. for secondary schools.
This year the Fairfield Public Schools will showcase more than 800 two-dimensional and three-dimensional artworks. The exhibition is a tribute to the talented students and teachers at the two high schools, three middle schools, and 11 elementary schools. It exemplifies the progression of work of students from kindergarten through high school. Art will be featured throughout the Library including in the Auditorium, Perkin Gallery, and Reading Room.
The opening reception is one of the gala events of the Fairfield school year. Hundreds of proud parents, students, and educators will wander through the exhibition, admiring the color schemes, patterns, compositions, and ingenuity of the work. They will take pictures and selfies, hug their talented children, and meet with the art teachers.
The public is also invited to enjoy the Advanced Placement (AP) exhibition with selections from Fairfield Ludlowe and Fairfield Warde High Schools in the Perkin Gallery, which is on view from May 14 – June 1, 2018.
