Troop 90 Helps with Spring Cleaning at the Grange

Fairfield, CT - Eleven Scouts and five adults from BSA Troop 90 pitched in to help clean up the Greenfield Hill Grange #133 Spring Grounds on Saturday, April 6.
 
Grange Hall buildings are meeting places of The National Grange of the Order of Patrons of Husbandry. There are over 60 such buildings which are historic and are listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The Greenfield Hill Grange #133 is a Queen Anne style building in Fairfield in the U.S. state of Connecticut. Built in 1897, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.
 
The Connecticut State Grange is a fraternal organization with roots in rural and agricultural history and the Grange ritual. It serves as the unifying and supportive organization of community and district Granges in programs of community service, family activities, legislation, and other activities relevant to local communities. The team of scouts and adults efficiently raked up winter debris, loaded it on tarps and disposed of it at the back of the property. Lunch was graciously provided by The Grange membership.

Boy Scout Troop 90, sponsored by Greenfield Hill Congregational Church in Fairfield, Connecticut, is a leadership troop in The Connecticut Yankee Council, Pomperaug District. Troop 90 was founded in 1938. Since 1953, the Troop has produced over 100 Eagle Scouts, with an average of four new Eagle Scouts each year from 2007-2018.
