Fifth State Distillery's Espresso Martini Wins DOUBLE GOLD at SF World Spirits Competition

Bridgeport, CT - Fifth State Distillery’s newly released Espresso Martini has won DOUBLE GOLD at the 2023 San Francisco World Spirits Competition and been chosen as a Best-in-Class finalist! (Awarded to the entries that receive a Gold medal rating by all members of the judging panel; these are among the finest products in the world.) 

Handcrafted with locally roasted espresso beans from Shearwater Coffee using a base of deliciously blended rums. Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free! Serve chilled or over ice with friends! 

 

About the competition   Founded in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is the oldest and largest competition of its kind. Medal winners range from some of the most renowned international distillers to small-batch producers that the competition has helped put on the map. The SFWSC medal is a testament to their hard work and universally recognized indicator of exceptional quality and craftsmanship. In 2022, the competition cemented its position as the largest spirits competition in the world with nearly 5,000 entries, led by Executive Director Anthony Dias Blue and Head Judge Jeffrey Morgenthaler.   Blind Tasting ENSURING EQUAL CONSIDERATION Throughout four days of highly controlled blind tastings, our experienced judging panels taste every product to decide if it is medal-worthy. Judges do not receive any information on producer or price point, ensuring each spirit is judged fairly, equally, and without bias.   Medaling Round JUDGING EACH ENTRY ON ITS OWN MERIT While tasting, judges evaluate each product on an individual basis—not compared to other entries in the flight. During this stage, judges determine which entries are worthy of a Gold, Silver, or Bronze medal. Entries that receive a Gold medal from all judges on a panel earn a Double Gold award.   Premium Awards RECOGNIZING THE BEST OF THE BEST On the final day of the Competition, select Double Gold spirits advance to the Sweepstakes round.
