Taco Tuesday By Hands Offering Hope Set for Burr Mansion Aug. 20

Fairfield, Connecticut - Taco Tuesday by Hands Offering Hope is back on August 20 with a new location for its third year - the historic Burr Mansion in Fairfield. This can’t-miss event brings together award winning chefs from some of Connecticut’s favorite culinary destinations for an unforgettable evening of food, music and hand-crafted cocktails to raise funds for the Hands Offering Hope Culinary and Hospitality Institute outside of Cancun, Mexico.

Guests will enjoy a variety of incredible tacos, hand-crafted cocktails by a master mixologist, live music and a silent auction. After two successful events, this year’s experience will raise the stakes with a panel of professional judges from the US and Mexico to select the best taco of the night, alongside a “people’s choice” award voted on by attendees. Winners will have an opportunity to travel to Mexico to work with students at the Culinary Institute and take part in a once in a lifetime Yucatán Culinary Experience.

“This event has been an incredible way for the community to come together and support the next generation of culinary leaders in Mexico,” said Jason Sobocinski, co-founder and President of Haven Hot Chicken. “Empowering young people to pursue the best careers in the culinary and hospitality industry transforms their lives in such a tangible way - it’s awesome to be a part of that.”

Partnering restaurants include Barcelona Wine Bar, bartaco, The Chelsea, Don Memo, Elicit Brewing Co., Geronimo Tequila Bar & Southwest Grill, Haven Hot Chicken, Mazorca Mexican Restaurant, Olmo, Ordinary New Haven, and Sparrow Pizza Bar. This year’s event is sponsored in part by bartaco, Black Hog Brewing, CNI Brands, Gather & Lounge, Semilla Collective, and Splash PR.

Tickets are $125 per person and can be reserved at handsofferinghope.org/tacotuesday. Purchase tickets before July 20 for a free VIP upgrade that includes a curated mezcal tasting.
