The following is a message from CT State Sen. Tony Hwang sharing his stance on the environment.
Neighbors and friends,
Over the past few days and weeks, we have all witnessed the frightening historic hurricanes and storms devastating our east coast. Connecticut is no stranger to super storms: from Hurricane Sandy in 2012, to as recent as the disastrous flooding in Oxford & Newtown last month.
The environment affects all of us: from our coastlines and river-ways, to our farms and open-space, and the air we breathe. With demonstrated leadership, I have found collaborative solutions to defend watershed lands, protect our Long Island Sound and rivers, and prepare against erosion, super storms, and natural disasters.
Endorsed by the state's leading environmental group, the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters, I have and will continue to support our community and environment. Advocating for our beach residents, open spaces, watershed towns, wildlife, and agricultural businesses by offering common sense governance and community-oriented solutions is imperative to this job. This election, please make your voice heard, and join me in this fight. I hope to have earned your support with my committed record on protecting the environment and our towns. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in reaching out, I would love to hear from you!
Committed to our Environment & Community,
Tony
