Book Talk & Signing with Children’s Author Jan Brett at IKEA in New Haven on Nov. 29
R.J. Julia Booksellers of Madison and IKEA New Haven are teaming up for a special event on Saturday, Nov. 29. Bestselling children’s author and illustrator Jan Brett will deliver a 20-minute talk and illustration demonstration and sign copies of her new book, “The Animals’ Santa” beginning at 10 a.m. The book follows a group of forest animals as they investigate the mystery of the treasures left for them each Christmas.
The event will benefit Read to Grow, the Branford-based literacy nonprofit, of which IKEA is a supporter. Gently used children’s books will be collected on behalf of Read to Grow, who will deliver the books to families in need throughout Connecticut.
Admission is free, but seating will be limited. Attendees are asked to register in advance at rjjulia.com. RJ Julia will provide “The Animals’ Santa” along with a selection of Brett’s other books for purchase at the event. Books can also be purchased in advance at the store or through the store’s website. Purchase of “The Animals’ Santa” through RJ Julia at or before the event is required for admission to the book signing line.
Host and sponsor of the event, IKEA is located at 450 Sargent Drive in New Haven. For more information about IKEA and to sign up for the free IKEA FAMILY loyalty program, please visit IKEA here.
