County Waste Management Helps Fox Lane Sports Boosters Raise Over $50,000 at Grand Prix New York Fundraiser

County Waste Management of Bedford Hills was a sponsor of the 2nd annual 24-hour Bowl-A-Thon to benefit Fox Lane Sports Booster Club (FLSBC) that was recently hosted by Grand Prix New York. Over $50,000 was raised by the time the final bowling pin fell.
The Bowl-A-Thon, which brought in over 500 participants at GPNY's Spins Bowl lanes this year, with local sponsors including: Arco Cleaning and Maintenance Company, Bedford234, Bradsell Painting and Carpentry, Brew & Co, County Waste Management, Jim Harte Nissan, Lexco Wealth Management, Mount Kisco Sports and Tompkins Excavating. Sponsors provided food, beverages, awards and other support, which fueled the fun and pushed participants to continue bowling all night for the cause.
“The Fox Lane Sports Boosters Club recently held its 2nd, 24 hour Bowl-A-Thon Fundraiser at GPNY. A 24 hour event utilizing the entire bowling facility requires a great deal of flexibility and GPNY has been a great partner all the way,” said Greg Raue, Treasurer of the Fox Lane Sports Booster Club. “We also want to thank County Waste Management and all of our sponsors for their support of this important fundraiser.”
Each individual or team was bowling specifically to raise funds in support of the family of Fox Lane High School senior, Emmet Gallagher, who suffered a spinal cord injury last summer, and also to help pay to renovate the Fox Lane Middle School Athletic Shelter. In order to keep spirits high and adrenaline running, bowlers were able to enjoy live music and take part in some friendly competition for prizes as the night went on.
Members of the Fox Lane Sports Booster Club worked together with the Bedford Central School District’s Board of Education to organize the event and when 24 hours was up, all parties were pleased with the turnout and success of FLSBC’s 4th fundraiser at Grand Prix New York.
“We are happy to help out such a worthy cause that positively impacts the children of Bedford,” said Ralph Mancini, President, County Waste Management.
