Free Sunset Yoga in the Park Summer Series in Westchester

The Westchester Parks Foundation announced a new partnership between Whole Foods Market Westchester and Tovami Yoga, a yoga studio in Mamaroneck, to kick off “Sunset Yoga in the Parks,” a summer series of four free yoga classes taking place in Westchester County parks.

The free yoga series kicks off on Wednesday, June 29th at Kensico Dam Plaza, located at 1 Bronx River Parkway in Valhalla, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Whole Foods Market Westchester will be providing light refreshments for each event. Athleta in Scarsdale, the premier fitness apparel brand for women since 1988, is also a sponsor.

“We are so pleased to partner with both Whole Foods Market Westchester and Tovami Yoga to provide a wonderful event for our community that allows families to enjoy the county’s most treasured gems, our parks,” said Joanne Fernandez, Board Chairperson of the Westchester Parks Foundation. “We hope that everyone takes advantage of this event – which allows them to focus on health and fitness while enjoying the great outdoors.”

The classes, taught by teachers at Tovami Yoga, are open to all levels, and are a great introduction to all beginners, according to Tobi Kundid, owner/director of Tovami Yoga located in Mamaroneck.

“I am truly excited to bring yoga to our beautiful parks here in Westchester,” Kundid said. “This is a great way to bring yoga to everyone and enjoy where we live.”
