The new lightning system was installed at Rotary Pavillion at Fowler Field, Francis and Benard Baseball Fields
Milford Cal Ripken - Junior Major League is continuing efforts to strive for the safest environment players, coaches and fans. The new lightning system is in addition to the current safety procedures: AED’s, background checks and safety fences.
This advanced system at the Rotary Pavillion, Fowler Field, Francis and Benard Baseball Fields will detect disturbances within two miles of the detector. The horn will sound for 15 seconds when it detects a lightning disturbance within two miles of detector, flashing until disturbance has gone away.
The horn will not sound again if amber light is still blinking. The light will stop flashing when disturbance is out of detection area and the horn will sound three times, indicating all clear. Once the all clear occurs, the system will reset timer if it detects disturbance after original disturbance.
