Milford PD Make Arrest in Walmart Robbery Case

On Friday, July 8, 2016, Milford Police and Detectives from the FBI Safe Streets Task Force took custody of Robert Covington (B/M, 25) 77 Whalley Avenue, New Haven. Through an extensive investigation, Covington was developed as the suspect in the Robbery at Wal-Mart, 1365 Boston Post Road, on June 16, 2016.

Covington is charged with:

Robbery 2nd

Larceny 3rd

Conspiracy to Commit Robbery

2nd Conspiracy to Commit

Larceny 3rd

Covington was unable to post $100,000 bond and appeared in Milford court on July 8, 2016.

The Milford Police Department is investigating an armed robbery which occurred on June 16, 2016 at approximately 7:40 am. A black male wearing all black clothing, a backwards black baseball hat and headphones entered Wal-mart, 1365 Boston Post Road, Milford, went to the service desk and implied that he had a handgun in his waistband and demanded money from the clerk.

The male was seen fleeing the store through the front door and running west across the parking lot. The suspect possibly entered a light colored 4 door vehicle waiting in the area.
