Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc, Milford’s professional not-for-profit theatre company for family audiences will bring Broadway performer Marissa Perry (who played Tracy in the original Broadway production of “Hairspray”) to Downtown Milford to lead it’s first Master Class on Thursday, December 29th at the Milford Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford.
In Marissa’s "Hairspray" Master Class, students will be taken through dance combinations from the Broadway musical "Hairspray"! Thanks to Jerry Mitchell and his high-energy choreography, the class is a fun-filled and rewarding experience for students at any level of dance experience. ""Hairspray" choreography is all about using your body to express your feelings and character--and this class is a multipurpose learning tool,” said Perry. "I show how to correctly move in accordance with the specific time period (1962) and how to throw “dance technique” out the window when need be” she added. Throughout the class, Marissa promises to share backstage stories of her Broadway experiences in “Hairspray" (as well as "Sister Act").
“We’re thrilled to have Marissa join us for our very first in a series of Master Classes,” said Pantochino co-producer Bert Bernardi. “She’s talented, funny and full of energy.” Jimmy Johansmeyer (Pantochino’s other co-Producer) added “The session is a great holiday gift for aspiring actors, dancers or anyone who loves “Hairspray."
The two-hour session will be held on Thursday, December 29th beginning at 1pm at the Center for the Arts in Downtown Milford. The class is suggested for ages 12 up to adult. Tuition for the Master Class is $50.00. Further details and registration form is available online at www.pantochino.com
