
The spirit of the Fab Four is in the air in Downtown Milford. As Pantochino Productions prepares for the world premiere of “Beat Bugs: A Musical Adventure,” the excitement is inspiring other local businesses.
Sweet Cupcasions, on River Street is dedicating part of this month’s menu to the Beat Bugs with flavors inspired by some of The Beatles most popular songs. The award winning bakery’s “Magical Mystery Tour” cupcake features vanilla bean cake topped with coconut buttercream, rolled in shredded coconut topped with a Florida Rum flavor injector. The “Sgt. Pepper” delivers chocolate spice cake with cinnamon, cayenne and chile, filled with a spicy chocolate ganache and topped with cinnamon cream cheese frosting. Another inspired flavor is “Strawberry Fields Forever” which is a strawberry cake with rhubarb streusel topped with vanilla mascarpone. These special creations and more will be available in the bakery through the month of October, with mini versions of the cupcakes on sale at performances of “Beat Bugs: A Musical Adventure” at the MAC.
“To be able to collaborate with the amazing crew at Pantochino Productions is so awesome,” said Sue Schowerer, owner of the baker. “Sweet Cupcasions is honored to create some pretty fabulous cupcake flavors for Beat Bugs,” she added.

“Beat Bugs: A Musical Adventure” is the story of five adorable bugs; Walter, Kumi, Crick, Buzz and Jay, as they attempt to save Strawberry Fields from the clutches of Mean Mister Mustard. It is based on the Emmy Award-winning Netflix series by Josh Wakely and written by Sean Cercone and David Abbinanti. The production is sponsored by The Milford Bank, and Pantochino’s season sponsor is Connecticut Post Mall.
The new musical plays October 12 through 18th at the Mac (Milford Arts Council) on Railroad Avenue. Tickets are available online at www.pantochino.com
