Unwash Your Hair

I recently posted about trying a new Unwash product line from California. Unwash is a new way to clean hair, gently removing dirt and and surface build up. The Bio-Cleansing Conditioner replaces shampoo, locks in your natural oils and color, moisturizes and is FREE of harsh sulfates and parabens.

So how was it?

Wash One - I immediately noticed a difference between using this, vs. regular hair products. The product has a pleasant fruity scent and doesn't lather up. The water was definitely more dirty than normal and less hair came out when I combed it through. I was relieved my hair didn't feel coated when I dried it.

Wash Two - I know what to expect now and I am definitely using less product on my hair. My shower is no longer cluttered with bottles of shampoo and conditioner. Unwash is quick to apply and surprisingly at this time of year my scalp isn't itchy or dry. No tangles when drying. So far so brilliant.

Wash Three - My hair feels a little more greasy than normal but that could be a result of hat hair. For the next wash I am going to use the Anti-Residue Rinse and Hydrating Masque for an intense cleanse. It says to use that after 3-4 washes.

Wash Four - I used the Anti-Residue Rinse followed by the Hydrating Masque, which you leave on your hair for 4-5 minutes. It felt like I was giving it a really thorough wash and when I dried it, it was super soft and shiny. My color still looks vibrant and I truly believe it has tamed my unruly, thick hair.

Three positives things to come from this are - the condition of my hair, the convenience and no harmful chemicals. When I used to wash my hair, I would always get a build up at the crown of my head, a big dry nest would stick up and despite applying conditioner, I would also have to add argan oil to smooth it over. Then I would be left with hair which didn't bounce or look natural but was heavily coated in products. With Unwash you honestly don't need to add anything else!

I am quite the skeptic but will absolutely continue to use these hair products. I'm looking forward to really putting them to the test during the summer, when my hair is not only scorched with the hair dryer but by also by the sun. Plus it dries out with the sea and swimming pool water. It will be such a relief only packing only one hair product for vacations too.
