New Canaan Boy Scout Troop 70 Annual Tag Sale Fundraiser

The New Canaan Boy Scout Troop 70 will host their annual Tag Sale on Saturday, April 25th, in the gym at St. Aloysius School in New Canaan. General admission is 9am to 3pm. Early birds can enter from 8am for a $10 fee.

The troop is collecting items for the sale on April 11th, 12th, 18th and 19th. They are looking for bikes, computers, rugs, musical instruments, antiques, jewelry, skates, golf clubs, children's toys, furniture, games, outdoor items, sporting goods, go-karts, kitchen items, holiday items, linens, dishes, baskets, flowers, small appliances, housewares, flat-screen TVs, artwork, outdoor grills, tools, snow blowers, lawn mowers, flat-screen monitors, boats and kayaks. The group especially welcomes car and cash donations.

Drop off items at the New Canaan Train Station parking area on Elm Street, across from Karl Chevrolet. The Scouts will be at this location to receive donations from 9am to 3pm starting this weekend.

For help getting an item to the Scouts, call Chris Wilson at (203) 979-3980. The tag sale funds the Troop’s activities and equipment for the year. Troop 70 also uses the money raised by the sale to support local charities in New Canaan and the surrounding area. In the past, the Scouts have donated money to a number of local charities and causes including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, New Canaan Department of Human Services, St Mark’s Church, St. Aloysius Church and Our Lady of Good Council in New York City.

The Troop cannot accept printers, bed linens, air conditioners, non-flat screen televisions and computer screens, large appliances, books, clothing, stuffed animals, CRT monitors, mattresses, furniture made from particle board, exercise equipment, refrigerators or car seats.
