
The New Canaan Mounted TroopNew Canaan Mounted Troop (NCMT) Gala is being hosted on Saturday, November 14th at Grace Farms in New Canaan, which officially opened last weekend and is causing worldwide press and recognition.
Celebrating its 76th year, NCMT provides the most comprehensive horsemanship educational program in Fairfield County for 100 children aged 7-18. The program comprises of riding lessons, mandatory barn day, equine lectures, community service and mentorship. In 2012, the Board approved the development of a PATH certified therapeutic program. This fall they are serving over 40 adults and children with special needs with the equine care and adaptive riding programs.
The year's gala will feature cocktails, dinner and a performance by Grammy award winning saxophone player Paul Winter. Geared toward funding scholarships for our horsemanship and therapeutic students, raising money for veterinary care for the horses, and closing the gap between operating costs and tuition.
