Basso Cafe Restaurant Bar

Basso Cafe first opened its doors to the public in September 2007. For the past eight years Chef Renato Donzelli’s vision was to launch a bar, which would compliment the restaurant. His dedication and tenacity has finally paid off, having recently been granted a full liquor license.

The modern, recently renovated 60-seater restaurant, is located between New Canaan and Norwalk. Chef Renato serves outstanding fine dining cuisine - his refined dishes are a nod to his Southern Italian family with accents toward his South American upbringing.

Testament to the quality and execution of the food has been consistently demonstrated with Zagat and New York Times reviews. This year, Chef Renato was honored by attending the Greenwich Wine and Food Festival as “Most Innovative Chef” at the opening Gala.

Chef Renato says: “The bar culture is huge in Europe and because I am a perfectionist with my dishes, I need our wines, beers and cocktails to enhance your dining experience. Now that I am licensed, I look forward to hosting wine pairing dinners and inviting in guest beer and wine experts. Our customers already receive great food and service, so I am especially excited to extend that to our bar.”

Basso Cafe is open Tuesday to Saturday from 11am - 2:30pm and 5:30 - 10:00pm. On Sundays it is open 5 – 10pm. You can still BYOB but it will be limited to one bottle per table and a $25 corkage charge will be applied.
