Silvermine Market is a Goldmine!

We have lived in New Canaan for some time now, and I am ashamed to admit I hadn't (until today) visited the historic Silvermine area. So when I received a tweet from Silvermine Market telling me about their fantastic breakfast offering, I had to check it out. This charming hundred year old building is located directly across from the Silvermine Art Center and like the owners - Scott Kaluczky and Lou Aloupis it oozes charm and personality.

My pancakes, bacon and maple syrup were fantastic and when I got talking to Lou, he told me about his philanthropic initiative, which really touched a nerve so I wanted to share this with New Canaan HamletHub readers.

LoveIzLuv has been created to give a voice to those affected by bullying. It is committed to making a difference in the world, spreading the word of love and silencing anger and hatred.

Lou comments: "Bullying, in all forms, is a particularly ugly form of hatred. It is often persistent and relentless, leaving many to suffer in silence. We have seen it lead to heart-wrenching and even catastrophic events. I have always had a dream and desire to be able to make a difference in the lives of others on a grander scale. I designed LoveIzLuv to inspire vision, ambition, and the relentless pursuit of each individual's definition of love and success. I want LoveIzLuv to become a universal movement that appeals to everyone regardless of age, color, sexual orientation or religion. By selling unique and stylish clothing which carries such a universal message, we are able to help link your purchases to support meaningful efforts in our communities. By giving back, we are joining together, because of love, and helping charities that support anti-bullying causes that we at LoveIzLuv believe in, and more importantly, what you, our followers believe in also".

Lou is currently in talks with organizations who can help get this fantastic initiative off the ground and spread the word. He will be touring local schools about LoveIzLuv, so watch this space - it is going to be huge.
