Meet Some of the Team
I am lucky to have a fantastic, knowledgeable and strong team of twenty plus agents. Over the next few weeks I will introduce a few of them to you. It's always good to put a face to a name, and we believe in keeping it very personal here at Berkshire Hathaway New England Properties. So following are three of my key people:
Jane Armstrong moved to New Canaan 20 years ago with her husband, Ross and has called it home ever since. She didn't have to venture too far from her hometown on Long Island and considers herself lucky to have extended family in town too. Raising four children during those years has given her an appreciation for and understanding of just what makes New Canaan tick. She presently has two in college and two at the High School. Jane received her BA in Economics and French from the University of Vermont and started her career in the Public Relations department at E.F. Hutton in NYC. A series of corporate mergers ultimately landed her a job in the Corporate Events Department at Lehman Brothers where she worked closely with the Sales and Trading and Investment Banking divisions until 1993. Being in the client service industry has prepared her well for the real estate arena. Jane says: "It was a very demanding job where every "t" had to be crossed and every "i" had to be dotted, no stone was left unturned, no request too big or too small, and every client was always top priority. I am a member of the New Canaan Board of Realtors, the Connecticut MLS, the Connecticut Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors."
Kathryn Pasternak's primary focus will be on representing buyers and sellers of real estate in New Canaan, Darien and other towns in lower Fairfield County. Kathryn says: "I am delighted to be affiliated with a company which was named âReal Estate Agency Brand of the Yearâ in the 26th annual âHarris Poll EquiTrendâ study which was based on the responses of more than 40,000 U.S. consumers. I believe that my background enables me to serve my clients with a high level of integrity, knowledge and professionalism. I hold a J.D. from Pace University School of Law and am an attorney admitted to practice in New York and Connecticut . A significant portion of my practice, which was located in New Canaan and Darien, was related to real estate and land use. I also hold New York and Connecticut Real Estate Brokerâs Licenses. In addition, I hold an M.A. from the University of Virginia and a B.A. from Sweet Briar College and I am fluent in Spanish. From a personal perspective, I have lived in New Canaan for almost 30 years and am very familiar with the schools and various community organizations. New Canaan is where my husband and I decided we wanted to raise our family. I look forward to working with you and providing you with highly competent representation, energy and commitment to the realization of your real estate needs. As a native of New York, I thoroughly enjoy my frequent trips to Manhattan. I also love to travel and explore other locations and cultures, but I am always happy to return to our beautiful home town of New Canaan."
Laura Costigan provides professional local expertise for all of your real estate needs - from selling, buying and rental to investment, and competitive analysis. She attended Northeastern University, BS and has been a resident of New Canaan for 20 years. Married with four grown children; two college graduates and two in college, they all attended New Canaan Public Schools. Laura has personally bought and sold properties in CT, NJ, MA and VT and managed rentals.
