CT Licensed Security Officer Employment Classes will be Held at HF LearnSafety in New Milford

This Friday and Saturday, CT licensed Security Officer employment Classes will be held by HF LearnSafety LLC in New Milford CT.

HF LearnSafety Firearms Training Center, located at 280 Kent Road, New Milford, CT,
provides the state licensing training for men and women seeking unarmed and
armed security officer positions in Connecticut.

Through HF LearnSafety LLC, qualifying veterans and national guardsmen and reservists of
the U.S. Armed Forces taking any or all three security officer training
programs are fully reimbursed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs under
the GI Bill.

All courses are conducted by Herb Furhman, who is a Connecticut Police Academy
firearm and tactical weapons instructor. He provides the certified training for
these licensing courses through the Connecticut State Police.

The Connecticut Security Officer "Guard Card" course is held twice a month and on-demand. This is an 8 hour, one day, certified criminal justice and first aid program. Participants must be at least 18 years old and have a clean record. Students will then receive their security
guard license through the CT State Police for employment.

The Connecticut Armed Security Officer "Blue Card" Courses are held
monthly and on demand. This 8 hour, one day course, certifies men and
women who wish to enter the security services field as an armed security
officer in Connecticut. Armed officers
must also take the Guard Card Course.

The CT Armed Security Officer Annual Blue Card Recertification
Class is held on demand. This is a 4 hour classroom and live fire
requalification class.

To be a licensed armed security officer you must be 21 years or
older, have a clean record; possess a CT state pistol permit and an appropriate
firearm for security employment.

The CT Security Officer Blue Card Course includes a detailed review of Connecticut general
statutes concerning employment and licensing in private detective and security
services, use of force of persons and premises, criminal codes, U.S. federal
firearms regulations, firearm safety, carrying and shooting techniques for
uniformed and non-uniformed personnel
and marksmanship skills. A written examination and live course of fire
firearm qualification for security services personnel is part of the course
requirements. Upon successful completion of the program, the participant may
then apply to a security or private detective company for their Blue Card
Licence and their state pistol permit to be amended as Class 1 by the
Connecticut State Police for armed security services employment.

In addition to being a Connecticut Police Academy instructor, Mr. Furhman is also
an NRA Law Enforcement & Citizen instructor for pistol, shotgun and rifle training
and state permits and has numerous other credentials. Mr. Furhman is a retired
police officer with over 30 years in state and municipal law enforcement.
