Throwback Thursday Features New Fairfield Author and Illustrator Margot Austin

Margot Austin was an author and illustrator of children's books. She lived in New Fairfield with her artist husband and son on Saw Mill Road in the house known as Charcoal Run, where she died in 1990. Mrs. Austin was also a Library Board member in the 1960s. Titles of her books include "Peter Churchmouse","Growl Bear, "Archie's Angel" and "William's Shadow", which the library has copies of. She also wrote and illustrated for "Jack & Jill Magazine" and illustrated books for Pratt & Munk Publishers.
