The Annual Jig and Pig Ice Fishing Tournament at Squantz Pond

The Annual Jig and Pig Ice Fishing Tournament presented by the Valley Angler will take place February 1st from 6: 00 am -2:00 pm. The Jig and Pig is given its name because of the "jigging" technique that is used by some of the competitors. The "pig" is for the barbecue that is put on during the tournament for the competitors.
All entrants must pre-register by January 25th by 6:00pm (no exceptions)
$35.00 Entry Fee
Prizes will be awarded for:
$$10,000.00 TAGGED FISH
Heaviest Bass
Heaviest Perch
Heaviest Trout
100% Payback (less the cost of food, equipment, etc)
$5.00 of each ticket sold will go to Anthony and Nick Fratino Fund (Tony Fratino's boys).
Food will be served from 12:30pm-3:00pm
Rules:
1. Anglers must stop at the Valley Angler starting at 5:00am on February 1st to get stamped.
2. Anglers must go out through the gates of Squantz Pond.
3. Anglers will receive a ticket at the gate of the park.
4. Anglers cannot weigh in any fish without a ticket.
5. Anglers must be at least 16 years of age (please do not request if children are under 16).
6. All CT rules apply.
7. Anyone breaking any rules will be disqualified.
8. The Jig and Pig Tournament committee reserves the right to refuse entry to the Derby.
9. To check biggest fish in each category call (203) 948-1985.
10. Anglers may pass through the food line once prior to 2:00pm and may return to food line after 2:00pm.
11. Anglers must walk on, no quads or snowmobiles (motorized vehicles) permitted.
12. No Alcohol in State Park.
13. We will help escort handicapped or elderly to their fishing area upon request.
Walleye will be an additional $5.00 entry.
