Elaine Gartner, has a very unique career, she is a Physiognomist. She is the owner of “Everyday Face Reading” and is helping people through her unique talents, skills and insight. But what exactly does Elaine do and how does she do it? Elaine shared her story with us.
What is Physiognomy?
Face reading, or physiognomy, is an ancient art spanning thousands of years and various cultures, wherein one's character--and even one's personal history--can be deduced by analyzing features on the face. Everything from your outlook on life, your communication and work style, your intimacy requirements, your sensitivity, and even your personal history can be deciphered from the appearance of your eyes, nose, mouth, ears, etc.
Why did you decide to make Physiognomy your career?
I decided to start “Everyday Face Reading” because I wanted to really help people navigate their lives more easily. In my twenties, I had struggled so much with finding meaningful work, and I wish someone had sat me down and told me just what my strengths are and what I should be focusing on. My dream is to empower people with self-knowledge. I believe that instead of berating ourselves for our behavior, gaining insight as to why we do certain things is invaluable. Our facial features reveal who we really are and that is empowering.
Can you give us an example of an interpretation of a facial feature?
Each feature on the face has multiple meanings, and one meaning ascribed to eyebrows is what one’s thinking patterns tend to be. So, if you have eyebrows that are straight in their shape, then it could be said that you process experiences in a logical, analytical manner. If you have curved eyebrows, it reveals that you value emotional connection with people. And if you have angled eyebrows, it means that your focus in most situations will be on gaining control and being “right” about things.
Why do people come to you for a face reading?
People come to me for a reading because they are curious as to what their face could possibly reveal. Once they get past the initial curiosity of this work, they are astounded at how the features on their face reinforce who they are. Some folks come to me for insight as to what kind of partner would be a good fit for them. Other folks inquire as to what direction their work life should take. And still others just seek knowledge about themselves and who they truly are, as they feel somewhat adrift in their current situation.
What is involved in a full face reading?
What’s so great about this work is that it can be done remotely. A face reading involves sending me 6 specific photos, which I will analyze and then, based on my findings, will generate an in-depth 3 to 4 page report. I also follow-up with a video conference to discuss the results with the client. There are over 120 possible features that can be read on the face and so the readings are always very systematic and thorough. The cost for a full face reading is $50 and can easily be purchased online.
Do you offer other services?
I work at wellness fairs (giving mini-sessions), I host parties where a group of friends or co-workers get a short presentation on face reading and also each person gets a mini face-reading, and I love to write articles about face reading for various media outlets. My hope one day is to present the basics of face reading to kids in order to help them understand their innate gifts and challenges. I also have a free monthly newsletter, that you can sign up for by entering your email address at the bottom of the home page on my website www.everydayfacereading.com.
