
The start of a new year is always a great motivator for many people to make that resolution to become healthier, but just joining a gym isn’t a guarantee of success. To be successful in any endeavor, you need a few other ingredients; Motivation, tools and a plan.
Joining a gym can be an intimidating experience for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you lack exercise experience and feel self-conscious, or maybe you haven’t gotten results in the past from your workouts. Maybe, although you really do want to become healthier and more fit, going to the gym feels more like a chore than something positive you’re doing for yourself. We’ll let you in on a little secret, even more experienced exercisers and gym goers get into routines that become stale or stop yielding the results they’re looking for. Sometimes some fresh ideas can take your exercise routine from stagnant to stimulating.
8 week Fitness Challenges are designed to engage members of all fitness experience levels, and to provide a fun and exciting format that guides you through the program, including team and personal competition, as everyone works towards the same goals. Challenges and FUN competition games in the gym help you stay focused, provide an energetic atmosphere and also help forge new friendships and bonds with others who are sharing the experience.
We also adapt Challenge programs for Corporate Wellness programs and offices.
The end goal of our Fitness Challenge is to successfully trim body fat from participants. While working towards that specific goal, the other results achieved will increase muscle tone, increase cardiovascular health, increase stamina and an all-around healthier you.
You’ll work consistently in the gym to earn points for your team by participating in pre-designed progressive workouts, specific cardiovascular activities, group exercise classes, personal training and small group training. Participants are provided with an 8 week exercise plan and guidance from the Training Staff. While working to earn points for your team, a Trainer can work on your specific needs and skillsets to help you achieve your final goal, the highest percentage of body fat reduction for the 8 week program.
Exercise alone is not the entire means of achieving a healthier you, but it is a vital part. Proper nutrition and reducing unhealthy behaviors are also important components of good physical health.
One fact to be aware of is that 70% - 90% of all major chronic illnesses are caused by unhealthy behaviors such as lack of physical activity, poor eating habits and unhealthy dietary intake, tobacco use, etc. The World Health Organization estimates that 3.2 million deaths annually are attributed to a lack of physical activity. Sedentary lifestyles are responsible for increased risk of diabetes, heart disease and the loss of bone density and strength and muscle. Effective Wellness Programs are proven to help people adopt and maintain healthy behaviors.
