
The New Fairfield Parks and Recreation Department presented the 8th annual Holiday Light Parade and Tree lighting this past Saturday in the business district. It was also Small Business Saturday and local merchants enthusiastically took part in the days festivities.
New Fairfield Parks & Recreation, in conjunction with the New Fairfield Library, presented Santa’s Workshop and Gingerbread House. Children can visit with Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves at Santa’s Workshop upstairs in the library. The Workshoppe at the Candlewood Creamery and Café had FREE hot chocolate, ornaments and a holiday sing-along.
Other merchant were:
- Sarah’s Gift N’ Ship – Children will have their choice of one FREE holiday craft to make. Crafts include jingle-bell necklace and Christmas ornament (children can bring wallet size photo for the ornament). Children can also participate in a FREE in-store scavenger hunt and Santa wish list
- The Goodie Shoppe offered children hot chocolate for $1.50.
- The NF Food Center invited children to stop by for a special holiday treat.
- Bruno’s Pizzeria –sold one slice of cheese pizza for $1.00.
- The Olde 37 Patio & Grill distributed a FREE cookie.
- Participants age 21 and older were invited to Fairwood Wines & Liquors, Heritage Wine & Liquor and New Fairfield Liquor Shop for a tasting of a variety of tastings.
- Simply Wax (located above Brunos) offered FREE hot chocolate and cookie.
