Snowfall Totals in Westchester, Putnam and Western Ct.

Here’s how much snow has fallen so far as of 6 p.m. this evening, according to unofficial observations which were reported to the National Weather Service.

As of noon today, Brewster had received 15 inches of snow and Carmel more then 12 inches in some places. Several reports have Mahopac receiving 18 inches. One Cold Spring observation reported 19 inches had fallen.

Danbury, Connecticut, saw at least 19 inches of snow on Monday. Hartford obsevers report anywhere from 12-16 inches in the Connecticut Capitol

In Westchester County, Katonah and Jefferson Valley in Yorktown have had 14 inches of snow. while Yonkers and Mount Vernon saw close to 15 inches according to some reports. Some coastal communities on Long Island are reporting over 2 feet of snow has accumulated as of 6 pm this evening.

Areas of snow showers have been developing across parts of the region this evening. The snow has begun sticking to roadways especially in areas which have temperatures at or below freezing. Some light snow accumulations of up to 1 inch will be possible. Also, temperatures dropping to freezing or below will also be resulting in refreezing of any snowmelt and freezing of any residual moisture. Any untreated surfaces will become icy and slippery. Proceed with extra caution if going outdoors and driving tonight.
