It is with a heavy heart that the New Milford Police Department announces the passing of Police K-9 “Drake”.
K-9 Drake had recently retired from active service in December after nine honorable years of service to the Town of New Milford. Unfortunately just a few months into the start of his retirement he was diagnosed with cancer.
Today the men and women of the New Milford Police Department, as well as K9 Officers from surrounding agencies gathered for Drake’s last ride. K-9 Drake will be terribly missed by his handler Officer Williams, his brothers and sisters in blue, as well as the citizens he served. Our thoughts are with Officer Williams and his family.
