New Pond Farm to hold Founders' May Fair this Saturday

On Saturday May 18th from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. (rain date Sunday the 19th from 1-4 p.m.) New Pond Farm will be celebrating the return of the growing season with its annual Founders' May Fair. You are invited to enjoy the beauty of the farm, meet live sheep, chickens and cows, and dine on delicious luncheon fare prepared by the Girl Scouts of Redding.
This wonderful day for families will begin with Kathy Weiss leading and teaching Maypole dances. Then, dressed in traditional costumes complete with bells, handkerchiefs and sticks, New Haven Morris and Sword will be waking the earth with their lively Morris Dancing. There will be sheep shearing,fleece spinning, and beekeeping demonstrations throughout the day, and horse-drawn hayrides through the pastures from 1-3 p.m..
Create a variety of spring crafts, and purchase an assortment of heirloom vegetable seedlings for your gardens.
$5 per person, $20 max per family
(there will be small fees at the craft tables to cover material costs)
(Sorry--you'll have to leave the dog at home.)
