RVNA Health Source: Community Forum on Senior Issues on September 13

How do you maintain the highest level of independence as you age? What choices are available and who can help you evaluate the options? To answer some of these questions, RVNA is hosting a community forum focused on aging and decisions that need to be made to live an independent, fulfilling life for as long as possible.
The program is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at RVNA, 27 Governor Street, Ridgefield from 7 – 8:30 PM. Local community leaders, including Rudy Marconi, Ridgefield First Selectman, Allison Stockel, Ridgefield Playhouse Executive Director and Michelle Kola, Ridgefield Crossings Move-In Coordinator, will enact a scenario that touches on a number of challenges that individuals and families face.
A panel of professionals will answer questions from the audience on topics that affect seniors such as living alternatives, legal and financial issues, and health and emotional considerations. The panelists are Elba Tirhado-Armstrong, RVNA Senior Clinical Nurse Manager; Heather McGhie, LPN, Director of Home Care by RVNA; William Crawford, Ridgefield Crossings Executive Director; Judith Hyland, Laurel Ridge Health Care Director of Social Services; Patrick Walsh, Elder Law Attorney with Hastings, Cohan and Walsh, LLP; and Tony Phillips, Ridgefield Director of Social Services. The forum will be moderated by Lizabeth Doty of the Ridgefield Commission on Aging. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided by Ridgefield Crossings. RSVP to RVNA at 203 438-5555.
