Volunteering in Newtown: 1,000 Acts of Kindness

The Newtown Nonprofit Council (NNC) is a coalition of non-profit organizations in Newtown, CT. Together, we share ideas about how to best serve the community of Newtown. 

Recently, the NNC made an initiative to create a volunteer hub, digitally connecting nonprofits in town with eager volunteers. With a grant from the Jeniam Foundation, NNC has launched the volunteer hub: Get Connected, Newtown! Each non-profit organization has their own site page, where they share their mission statement, social media handles, photos, and contact information. This site page introduces new volunteers to organizations that they are not already familiar with, as well as providing updated and reliable information to ongoing volunteers. Organizations can also post events and volunteer opportunities.

To celebrate the culture of volunteerism in town, NNC is announcing 1,000 Acts of Kindness. We are committed to identifying needs and mobilizing our community to serve each other. We hope that in 2022, we can fulfill at least 1,000 volunteer needs as a community. Join us today, and sign up to volunteer!
