
In a City Hall ceremony, Norwalk Mayor Richard A. Moccia marked the occasion of Sclafani Foods 100th year in business.
Sclafani Foods was founded in 1911 by Gus Sclafani. The Sclafani family has maintained ownership and management of the company through its entire history, including the existing third generation family operation by the Sclafani brothers Gus, Bruce, Ron, and Luciano, and fourth generation Sclafani workers.
Sclafani Foods has developed a worldwide reputation for offering only the highest quality products and services, persistently seeking the highest quality food products from around the world and bringing them to American consumers. Its employees have taken a leadership role in the Norwalk communityof business citizens including senior membership on the Greater Norwalk Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and active involvement in a host of community activities. Sclafani Foods has also taken a respected leadership position in the first-in-the-nation adoption by the State of Connecticut of quality standards for truth in labeling on olive oil products, and these standards have been replicated by the states of California, New York, and Oregon and are under consideration by other states.
