When’s the last time you got out of Connecticut? Yeah, you. While you may love THIS state it is nice to split from time to time. Lake George, New York, a place where late spring through the early fall is quite lively.

Saying that Lake George is “happening” is not enough to convince you to make the three and a half hour drive but talking about the attractions may get your traveling spirit up and outta here. Rather than give you a lengthy read, just brace yourself for a long sentence…starting now!

You can rent a house or hotel room ( by the lake of course), go mini golfing, shop ‘til you drop at the outlet mall, scream on a roller coaster at Six Flags Great Escape, go fishing and exaggerate about how big it was, go sailing or ride in some type of watercraft, take a ferryboat ride, get a tan, walk or jog by the lake, chow down on pizza, wings, and craft beer at Pizza Jerks ; enjoy fine dining at Bistro LeRoux, start your day at Café Vero and sip on fantastic lattes and get energized from some seriously amazing breakfast choices, hit the gift shops for Lake George memorabilia, be a kid again at an arcade, root beer float time at A&W, take photos with your favorite movie characters at the wax museum, get your sweet tooth fix at an ice cream shop or nosh on homemade fudge,  visit the Adirondack Pub & Brewery for local beer or food or both, and most of all, party, have fun and enjoy the scenery!

If Lake George isn’t satisfying enough, Saratoga Springs is only a half hour away. Get your grown up on at the race track or casino. Make a trip to downtown Saratoga Springs and check out the many restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream and gelato parlors, bars, and clubs. If you’re a jazz fan, stop in at 9 Maple Ave, located on 9 Maple Ave, and they make one hell of a martini!

Have fun with the photos and even if you aren’t convinced to take the trip, you at least killed some time at work imagining you were elsewhere.
