Norwalk Restaurants Among 2013 Chowdafest Winners

A short while back we brought you a preview of Chowdafest, an annual soup and chowder competition between popular local restaurants that you know and some you’re sure to want to try very soon. This heated soup battle and tasting (if you bought a ticket) took place on Super Bowl Sunday and acted as the perfect appetizer before the big game.

Oh, you want to know who won? Gotcha. And I must add, major props to the Norwalk restaurants and bars on this list. Represent!

Classic New England Clam Chowder

1^st:  Donovan’s (Norwalk)

2^nd:  Mansion Clam House (Westport)

3^rd:  Crab Shell (Stamford)

 

Creative Chowder

1^st:  Ginger Man, sweet potato clam chowder (Norwalk)

2^nd:  Brewhouse, chicken corn chowder (Norwalk)

3^rd:  Southport Brewing Company, corn & poblano chowder (Fairfield)

 

Soup/Bisque

1^st:  Crab Shell, lobster bisque (Stamford)

2^nd:  Dunville’s, cream of chicken chipotle soup (Westport)

3^rd:  Liquid Lunch, Buffalo chicken soup (Shelton)

 

Congrats to the winners and to The Ginger Man for winning two years in a row! But everyone that competed deserves a shout-out for participating in this tasty event that benefits the CT Food Bank.
