By the middle of the summer, many Connecticut residents and parents have exhausted almost every local family activity option. But a new concept in entertainment is on the horizon. Muse Paintbar, the first paint and wine bar in CT, is expanding to include a second location in South Norwalk opening in late July. Its first location in West Hartford opened last September to rave reviews.
Muse offers the ultimate night out. It enables people of all artistic abilities to be creative, while enjoying wine, beer, and bites in a relaxed atmosphere. Participants follow the artist's instructions to create their very own masterpieces of famous works like Van Gogh's Starry Night, seasonal images like a Saint Patrick's Day clover, and area images like Connecticut lighthouses and foliage.
"Muse allows local artists to share our passion and create art in a fun, relaxed atmosphere," said Muse Paintbar Co-Founder and Lead Artist Vanessa Leigh. "Art can be intimidating. We break down barriers by providing simple directions that allow people to get comfortable and gain confidence. By the end, they've had a great time and produced a piece of art they can be proud of and cherish forever."
Muse offers public sessions where customers choose a painting from a calendar of events, register online, and arrive at the spacious studio up to 30 minutes beforehand to unwind and socialize before the session begins. Muse also offers private parties for birthdays, fundraisers, work events, girls' nights and bachelorette parties. Classes average $35 per person, but prices may vary for fundraisers, special events or special sessions. The company donates 5% of profits to local causes and partners with local suppliers.
