Millions of people around the world practice the ancient art of Qigong/Tai Chi every day, to the benefit of their health. New Canaan Library is pleased to introduce the practice with a four-part series by Lucy L. Gao, certified Qigong/Tai Chi instructor. The first class will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the Adrian Lamb Room.

Qigong/Tai Chi is a gentle Body-Mind-Spirit practice consisting of a series of slow, meditative and dance like movements, purported to help increase stamina and vitality while reducing stress. Daily practice also helps enhance the immune system and improve balance, as well as improve cardiovascular, respiratory, circulatory, lymphatic, and digestive functions. The balance of the classes will be held on January 11, January 25 and February 1.

Lucy L. Gao was born in Tianjin, China. She is a certified Qigong/Tai Chi Instructor who graduated from the Institute of Integral Qigong and Tai Chi. Lucy is also a certified Yoga Instructor. Besides teaching Qigong/ Tai Chi and Yoga classes, Lucy is also a classical musician and a trained dancer.
