On November 22, 2021, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) strengthened their COVID-19 booster guidance, recommending that everyone 18 years of age and older receive a COVID-19 booster shot.
Under the updated booster guidance, anyone age 18 and older should get a booster shot 6 months after their second Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or 2 months after their Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
The Health Department will hold a COVID-19 Moderna booster clinic at the Norwalk Senior Center (11 Allen Road) on Friday, December 10, 10:00 am – 2pm. Appointments are required. To register for an appointment, visit https://vams.cdc.gov/vaccineportal.
For questions or if you need help making your appointment, please call the Vaccine Information Line at 203-854-7985. Please bring your COVID-19 vaccine card with you to your appointment. The Health Department strongly encourages all eligible individuals to get their COVID19 booster shot. Booster shots play a significant role in helping the immune system further protect you from the COVID-19 and its variants. COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are rising statewide.
