From Page to Stage: The Magic School Bus Delights at Ridgefield Playhouse

On March 28th, 2024, the Ridgefield Playhouse kicked off their brand-new Arts in Education “From Page to Stage” initiative. As part of this program each student attending the live Theaterworks USA show received a copy of The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System.

Ashley Paltauf, Executive Director of Operations, was thrilled to announce the launch of this new initiative from the Ridgefield Playhouse stage. “The mission of our “From Page to Stage” program is to expose students to the arts while promoting literacy and instilling a love of reading. By experiencing live theater, students see the world from multiple perspectives, learn to use their imagination and help increase their empathy for others”.

 The Playhouse has already received glowing feedback from teachers who attended the performance today. “What a generous gift on top of a great performance! Thank you for a terrific experience for our 2nd graders” reports a teacher from Mahopac, NY.  

 A special thank you to The Leir Foundation and all the Arts in Education sponsors and funders who made this program possible and donated 1,000 books, including Books on the Common and the underwriter of our three STEAM themed shows, Rudy Ruggles. The Ridgefield Playhouse appreciates all the volunteers for assisting in today’s performances, especially Steve Carlson, Board Secretary and Savings Bank of Danbury.
