Job Opportunity: Join the Dynamic Team at Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT)

The Norwalk River Valley Trail (NRVT) is seeking a W9/contract employee to assist its Executive Director beginning on or before July 1, 2024. This part-time position offers 20 hours of work per week.

About Us: The Friends of the NRVT is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to designing, constructing, and maintaining a regionally significant, safe, universally accessible, multipurpose trail linking Norwalk, Wilton, Redding, Ridgefield, and Danbury. Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Possesses strong organizational, communication, and writing skills (or has a strong willingness and capacity to learn).
  • Has experience with Neon One CRM or other nonprofit donor management platforms.
  • Excels in social media skills (Constant Contact, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok).
  • Is knowledgeable about introducing new technologies to increase efficiency for a busy and growing nonprofit.
  • Can work independently and has good project management skills.

A keen interest in preserving the natural environment, making the outdoors accessible to all, gaining experience in the nonprofit natural resource profession, and exposure to local, state, and federal government funding projects is also desirable.

Position Details:

  • Flexible, mostly remote work-from-home position.
  • Requires own computer, car, and driver’s license.
  • Weekly in-person meetings with the Executive Director and regular fieldwork in Norwalk, Wilton, Ridgefield, Redding, and Danbury.
  • Monthly attendance at NRVT Board meetings in Wilton (second Wednesday, 5:30 - 7 PM).
  • Presentation, fundraising, community outreach, and event planning experience are a plus.
  • Primarily administrative (approximately 75%) with about 25% fieldwork.
  • Competitive pay commensurate with experience and a minimum one-year commitment.
