Norwalk Symphony Orchestra Joins Statewide Celebration for Connecticut Orchestra Month
This March, Norwalk Symphony Orchestra will join 28 other orchestras across the state to celebrate Connecticut Orchestra Month (CTOM)—a statewide initiative highlighting the joy and accessibility of live orchestral music.
CTOM showcases the vital role orchestras play in Connecticut’s cultural landscape and in the arts education of students statewide. The 29 participating orchestras illustrate the richness of Connecticut’s orchestral community, collectively representing:
- 2,400 musicians performing across the state.
- 282 performances annually, reaching over 186,000 audience members.
- 350 community and educational events, engaging 45,000 students across 230 schools.
Audiences in Norwalk and beyond can experience a wide variety of performances, from classic masterpieces and live film scores to diverse musical styles and exciting new works. Whether it’s an inspiring evening out, a dazzling date night, or a fun-filled family outing, there’s something for everyone.
- March 7 & 8: Orpheus and Euridice – Chamber Series at Music Theatre of CT
- March 21 & 22: (Not) Just for Kids – Norwalk Symphony Orchestra
- March 23: Music for All Ages – Norwalk Symphony Orchestra
First-time concertgoers and seasoned audience members alike are encouraged to attend and experience the power of live orchestral music.
Sandra Miklave, Executive Director, shares:
"Orchestral music takes many forms and covers many genres. People hear orchestral music all the time – in movies, commercials, social media, and more – and do not even realize it. We are excited to partner with CTOM to elevate the experience of all our audience members. Each of our orchestras is unique within our grander commonality, and there is so much to offer audiences of all ages."
