Memorial Service Today for Alexander Bergman of Somers, NY

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Alex Bergman, the 23 year old who went missing a week ago and was found deceased in Ridgefield, will take place at 1:30pm today.
Alexander J. Bergman, age 23, of Somers, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 9, 2012. Alex was born January 20, 1989 in Tampa, FL. and is the beloved son of Dale J. and Gail A. (Dietz) Bergman.
Alex graduated from North Salem High School in 2007. He excelled in academics, lacrosse and football and was a recipient of The National Merit Scholarship Award. He enjoyed boy scouts, playing piano and achieved a Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. He attended Boston College where he was pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in English. Alex was employed by J & J Pharmacy in Teaneck, NJ.
In addition to his parents, Alex is survived by his maternal grandfather, Calvin E. Dietz, his Uncle Cliff and Ruth Ann Bergman, Aunt Cheryl and Tony Lupia of Reading, PA, Uncle Craig Dietz of Houston, TX and 9 cousins.
Family will receive friends on Friday, July 13 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Clark Associates Funeral Home, Katonah, NY. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 1:30 pm at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Route 100, Somers, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Alex and his dog, Kip to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, 611 Granite Springs Rd., Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
