He may be best known for his voice as the mascot duck in Aflac commercials or for his dirty jokes or as “the comedians’ comedian”. Funny man Gilbert Gottfried is bringing his show -- for 18+ only -- to The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, July 31, at 8 p.m. A complimentary wine tasting by Benziger Family Winery will take place in the lobby from 7-8 p.m. This event is part of the Benziger Family Winery Theater & Comedy Series.

Famous for his crude comedy and improvisation expertise, Gottfried takes on religion, race relations, pop culture and sex. Not much is off-limits for this seasoned comedian.  He spent a season on Saturday Night Live and went on to do dozens and dozens of TV shows including “The Cosby Show”, “Hollywood Squares” and  “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”.  An expert voice actor, Gottfried’s most famous vocal role was that of the Aflac duck.

For tickets ($40) call or visit the box office at The Ridgefield Playhouse, (203) 438-5795. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT; ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
