Wolves in Ridgefield? We Asked the Experts

Recently, a reader posed this question on our Facebook page:  Has anyone seen wolves in Ridgefield recently? We're in south Ridgefield, and something that matches every picture I've seen of a grey wolf just came through the back yard heading for the woods.

So we contacted the experts, the Wolf Conservation Center in South Salem, and asked them, Could there be grey wolves in Connecticut?  Here is there answer, "No wild wolves in our area. We have the eastern coyote, a critter that's larger than their western counterparts."  If you have other questions about wolves in our area or are interested in learning more, please contact them, the WCC has some wonderful activities for families and children.
