The Ridgefield Playhouse is pleased to announce that it has received a grant of $5,000 from the Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation to help support the April 27 “Doktor Kaboom!” Arts in Education program geared to grades 2-8.  For more than 125 years, Boehringer Ingelheim has been committed to doing the right thing both around the world and in local communities.

“Doktor Kaboom!” is able to foster interest in science by bringing an engaging and high quality performance directly to elementary students and their teachers. “With the help of this generous grant, the Playhouse is able to make great educational programming like ‘Doktor Kaboom!’ available at the nominal cost of $10 so that principals, teachers and students alike can benefit from a performing arts experience that has the ability to make learning fun.  In this particular program, Doktor Kaboom blends theatre arts with the wonders of scientific experiment and exploration,” explains Executive Director of The Ridgefield Playhouse Allison Stockel.  Tickets are selling quickly, so educators/students/parents are advised to reserve seats now.

The Boehringer Ingelheim Cares Foundation supports programs in Connecticut that align with its goals of improving access to health care and enhancing math and science education for individuals and families in need.
