Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues will perform signature classics and more at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, August 11

Justin Hayward, known as the front man of rock band The Moody Blues, has an extensive musical career packed with his own compositions including the hits "Nights in White Satin", "I'm Just a Singer (in a Rock and Roll Band)", "Your Wildest Dreams" and "I Know You're Out There Somewhere". Because of Justin’s talent, The Moody Blues became known as the greatest Classical Rock Band. Justin Hayward is touring in support of his new album Spirits of the Western Sky released earlier this year, and he and his trio will debut songs from this new release and perform some of the Moody Blues classics at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Sunday, August 11, at 8 p.m. The Hideaway (Grove St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine or draft beer with dinner the night of the show when ticket/stub is presented. This event is part of the Guinness Black Lager Rock Series.
In addition to the extensive songwriting Justin Hayward did for The Moody Blues in his much-respected career, he also wrote for other artists such as The Blue Jays and Annie Haslam. Among Hayward’s noteworthy accomplishments are his performance at the John Lennon Tribute Concert (1990) and his membership in the Society of Distinguished Songwriters. This May, Justin Hayward was honored in London at the prestigious 58th Ivor Novello Awards where he received the PRS for Music Award for Outstanding Achievement. In 1985, the Moody Blues received an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music, and in 1988, Justin Hayward won Composer of the Year for the Moody Blues hit, “I Know You're Out There Somewhere”.
