Crowe-esque concert with The Chris Robinson Brotherhood on Thursday, October 20, at The Ridgefield Playhouse

Chris Robinson began his music career as lead singer for The Black Crowes in 1989 with the successful album Shake Your Money Maker (#4 on Billboard in 1990).  Still going strong, he has assembled a band of what critics call “awesome talent” under the title of The Chris Robinson Brotherhood: Neal Casal on guitar, Adam MacDougall (of the Black Crowes) on keyboards, George Sluppick on drums and Mark "Muddy" Dutton (of Burning Tree) on bass. Their “Evening with The Chris Robinson Brotherhood” takes place at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Thursday, October 20, at 8 p.m.  Media sponsor is WPLR. An AllShows.com VIP Party Pass for $25 is available for this show and includes an open bar, a new pre-show hors- d’oeuvre menu and VIP priority parking. Call the Box Office (203-438-5795) for more information.

For “Crowe” fans, this new ensemble will not disappoint, as the Chris Robinson Brotherhood’s sound is Crowe-esque guaranteed, yet the recent Brotherhood is good-time music in a more Grateful Dead vein. Other highlights include Carl Perkins’ “Blue Suede Shoes,” Bob Dylan’s “Tough Mama,” The Everly Brothers “So Sad” and the encore Dave Mason song “Shouldn’t Took More Than You Gave.”

For tickets ($55), call or visit the box office at The Ridgefield Playhouse, (203) 438-5795. The Ridgefield Playhouse is a not-for-profit performing arts center located at 80 East Ridge, parallel to Main Street, Ridgefield, CT; ridgefieldplayhouse.org.
