HamletHub Adding The Rivertowns: Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry and Hastings-on-Hudson, as Latest City in Its Roster of Hyper Local News Sites

Rivertowns, New York. December 30, 2013 – HamletHub.com a pioneering network of 'hyperlocal' websites providing locally originated news and information to communities will soon be launching its newest hyperlocal site for the Rivertownsarea, the company announced today.

With a full roster of sites covering most of Connecticut, HamletHub has begun its expansion to Westchester County and is proud to announce that Hastings-on-Hudson resident, Toni Ann Berardo, and Dobbs Ferryresident, Michelle Spiniello, have agreed to become the editors of Rivertowns HamletHub. According to the company's founder, Kerry Anne Ducey, establishing sites in New York was a natural next-step for the hugely popular and successful CT-based company.

"We are thrilled to welcome our neighbors in the vibrant NY towns of Ardsley, Dobbs Ferry and Hastings-on-Hudsonto HamletHub," said Ms. Ducey. "There are so many great people and businesses in the Katonah community who deserve to have their very own forum to share neighborhood news, stories, ideas, events and best business practices. Toni Ann and Michelle will make the Rivertowns a better place." Ducey adds.

HamletHub launched the first local news "Hub" in Ridgefield in 2009 with a mission to make the world better, one HamletHub at a time. HamletHub won a prestigious Connecticut Press Club Award in 2011 and 2012.

Hamlethub sites differ from other media outlets based on their focus on the needs of the community — its residents as well as the organizations and businesses that make up the fabric of the town. Rivertowns Hamlethub offers a unique opportunity for these groups to have a voice in their community, either by submitting articles to the site as a local resident, or by participating in the site's unique Article Membership service for businesses, giving them an unprecedented opportunity to tell their story and to differentiate themselves in the marketplace.

Toni Ann and Michelle are community advocates that are closely connected to the people, places and things that make the Rivertowns tick. Readers and advertisers will benefit from a direct line to the heart of the community, the people who are eager to help local philanthropies, as well as those looking for something to do tonight and this weekend.

Toni Ann Berardo is a Rivertowns native. Growing up in the small village of Ardsley, and now residing in Hastings-on-Hudson, she has spent her whole life creating relationships with local community members, business owners, government officials, school districts and more! Graduating in 2010 from Iona College with a degree in Education and English, Toni Ann now aims to make her way into the world of local blogging. As someone who was born and bred in the Rivertowns, Toni Ann takes the responsibility of bringing local news the community to heart. She spends her time reading, painting, taking pictures, spending time with her family at her boyfriend's restaurant, Saint George, and exploring the Rivertowns. Toni Ann's favorite things to blog about are local boutiques, restaurants, farmer's markets, schools and upcoming community events.

Michelle Spiniello discovered the Rivertowns ten years ago when her husband took a teaching position in the Hastings on Hudson School District at the same time as enrolling her children there. She discovered the vibrant culture and close knit community of the area. Michelle and her family live in Dobbs Ferry and her children currently attend school in Ardsley. They are active in the schools, sports, community events, local charities, the arts, and protecting the environment. She is passionate about encouraging people to network and support each other while strengthening our local economy. Look for Michelle's posts about community events, how you can get involved, and how local business can help you.
