Police Blotter: DUI, Youth Party, Motor Vehicle Accident

On Tuesday, February 4 at approximately 2:30 p.m. an 18-year-old Ridgefield man turned himself into Police Headquarters for a DUI arrest warrant relating to an accident that had occurred on Shadow Lake Road. The suspect was given a $200 bond and a court date of February 20, 2014. He was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Traveling Too Fast for Conditions.
On Friday, February 7 at approximately 10:06 p.m. Ridgefield Police responded to a 3 car MVA with injuries, which occurred on High Ridge Avenue and Bryon Avenue. One of the drivers, a 50-year-old Ridgefield man, was transported to the hospital. Two of the cars were towed with moderate damage. The accident is still under investigation.
On Saturday, February 8 at approximately 12:40 p.m. Ridgefield Police responded to a two car MVA on Danbury Road. A DMV Collect Check showed that the operator, a 21-year-old South Salem man, was driving with a suspended license when he collided with a car being driven by a 40-year-old Ridgefield woman. A misdemeanor summons was issued to the operator for a Suspended License, Failure to Carry Insurance ID Card and Failure to Drive at a Reasonable Distance.
On Saturday, February 8 at approximately 1:47 p.m. Ridgefield Police responded to a one car MVA on West Lane. Interview and investigation of the 50-year-old Hastings on Hudson NY driver resulted in an arrest for Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Drive in the Proper Lane.
On Saturday, February 8 at approximately 11:11 p.m. Ridgefield Police responded to a residential address on Saw Mill Hill Road to a report of a youth party with alcohol. It was determined that the resident, a 15-year-old, had hosted a party in which alcohol had been present. The youth was issued a Juvenile Summons for Failure to Halt Consumption of Alcohol by Minors.
On Tuesday, February 11 at approximately 10:24 p.m. Ridgefield police responded to North Street for a report of an erratic driver. A 63-year-old Danbury woman driving the car with the reported license plate was stopped on Copps Hill Road. The operator failed the standard field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence and Failure to Drive in Proper Lane. She was given a court date of February 24, 2014 at Danbury Superior Court.
