Eleven members of the Ridgefield Capital Asset Management (RCAM) team recently put the Ridgefield burger to the test. "We had a client stop by the office who was raving about a burger he had a Bare Burger - claiming it was the best burger had ever had," explained Rob Ellis, Managing Partner at RCAM.
Did Ridgefield's newest burger establishment, Bare Burger, in fact have the 'best burger'? Curious, Ellis and his RCAM team took a break from the financial world to get the beef on the Ridgefield burger.
The following local restaurants were randomly selected to participate in ROUND 1 of "Ridgefield's Best Burger" test.
· Bailey's Backyard
· Bare Burger
· The Hideaway
· Bissell House
· Early Bird Cafe
· Ancient Mariner
When posed with the question, "Why didn't you include more restaurants?" Ellis smiled and said, "How many burgers can we eat?" To be included in ROUND 2, please email Joanne Feda at jfeda@ridgefieldcap.com
Joanne Feda, Manager at RCAM, was Project Burger Manager of this worthy taste-test. "I deployed six of our team members to each venue to assure delivery time would be exact and the burgers wouldn't be 'sitting', which could impact flavor," said Feda, who tried to control the variables to assure fair judging.
The burger, a classic American Cheese Burger, without any "fixings", was accompanied by French fries and onion rings. Feda ordered each burger to be cooked medium. Buns on each burger were not specially ordered but the quality of the bun was factored into the overall results.
The six deployed RCAM employees arrived at the Grove Street office with the orders at 12:30 pm. Feda unpacked each bag, carefully assuring members of the RCAM team were not privy to burger venue. She set up six stations inside RCAM conference room and lined up burgers, fries and onion rings.
A total of 11 people consumed 18 burgers which were cut into 72 pieces. All visited each station, tasting the burgers, fries, and rings. Was the burger juicy? Cooked accordingly (medium)? How about the flavor? Were the onion rings and fries crispy and flavorful?
The votes have been counted and of the six local burgers taste tested, RCAM deems Bailey's Backyard as the establishment with the 'Best Burger'.
Bare Burger takes the prize 'Best French Fries' and Bare Burger and Bailey's Backyard tie for 'Best Onion Rings'.
Stay tuned for ROUND 2 of "Ridgefield's Best Burger".
